Matteo Castronovo

Matteo Castronovo is Associate Professor of Biomolecular Nanotechnology at the University of Leeds. Since July 2016, he has led the Mo.Na.Li.S.A. (Molecular Nanotechnology for Life Science Applications) laboratory in the School of Food Science and Nutrition. Previously, he was Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator at the Regional Coordination Centre for Rare Diseases of the Azienda Sanitaria Universitaria del Friuli Centrale in Udine (2016-2021). His research programmes focus on discovery and innovation in nanoscience and biotechnology, following an approach that integrates experimental and theoretical methods to study nucleic acid self-assembly on surfaces and in solution.
