Marco Pallavicini

Marco Pallavicini is full professor of Fundamental Interaction Physics at the University of Genoa, a researcher at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) and, since 2020, a member of the INFN Executive Board. The author of more than 400 scientific papers, he works mainly on neutrino physics, solar physics and research into dark matter and dark energy. He has been co-spokesperson of the Borexino experiment at the INFN Gran Sasso Laboratories since 2011. He oversees INFN’s activities in the field of gravitational waves and, in particular, the Italian bid for the Einstein Telescope. From 2014 to 2020 he was President of the National Commission that coordinates and funds INFN’s astroparticle physics research, and from 2016 to 2024 President of the Festival della Scienza in Genoa. He is President of the European Gravitation Observatory and a member of numerous international committees and scientific academies. He is the Italian representative at the OECD Global Science Forum.
