Gerardo D'Auria

Gerardo D’Auria is an accelerator physicist who graduated in Physics from the University of Naples Federico II. For more than forty years, he has worked in the fields of particle accelerators and high-power RF systems. He began his career at ENEA in Frascati, contributing to the development of a 10 MeV LINAC for industrial applications. Since 1988, he has been involved in the development of the Elettra synchrotron light source in Trieste, holding leading roles in the design and operation of the LINAC, injector and X-band systems for FERMI. He has coordinated technology upgrade programmes and the development of new prototypes within the FERMI project. Since 2021, he has been a scientific collaborator at CERN and Chair of the CLIC Collaboration Board. He led the European CompactLight project and has coordinated the European PACRI project since 2025.
