Gian Andrea Blengini si è laureato in Ingegneria mineraria presso il Politecnico di Torino nel 1994 e ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Earth Resources presso l’Instituto Superior Técnico di Lisbona nel 2006. Attualmente è docente presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Ambiente, del Territorio e delle Infrastrutture (DIATI) al Politecnico di Torino. È titolare degli insegnamenti Resources and Environmental Sustainability e Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) e coordina il gruppo di ricerca su LCA dal 2004. Dal 2013 al 2021 è stato ricercatore presso il Joint Research Centre della Commissione Europea dove ha coordinato numerosi progetti sulle tematiche critical raw materials, circular economy, life cycle data network.

Gian Andrea Blengini received a MSc in Mining engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in 1994 and a PhD in Earth resources from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon in 2006. Currently he is professor at the Politecnico di Torino where he leads the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) research group and lectures on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Resources & Environmental Sustainability at undergraduate, master and postgraduate level. He has been a senior researcher at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in the Land Resources Unit from 2013 to 2021, with a role of team coordinator in projects and activities: (1) in support of EC raw materials policies, with focus on critical raw materials and monitoring of Circular Economy, and (2) targeted to the EU Raw Materials Knowledge Base, including Life Cycle Inventory data availability, coherence and quality.
