Francesco Longo
professor of Physics University of Trieste and researcher INFN Trieste
Associate Professor of Experimental Physics in the Department of Physics at the University of Trieste and the Rector’s Delegate for Doctoral Programmes at the same university. He also serves as the Department Head’s Delegate for the Third Mission – Public and Social Engagement. He teaches General Physics II on several bachelor’s degree programmes in Engineering, as well as Nuclear and Subnuclear Astrophysics on the master’s degree programme in Physics. He is also involved in physics education, teaching the Physics Education Laboratory course on the master’s degree programme in Mathematics.

In Big Science, progress is not a flash of insight from a lone genius but the result of thousands of human neurons firing in step.
