Francesco Longo
PhD student in Personalised medicine and innovative therapies University of Trieste
Francesco Longo is a PhD student in Personalised medicine and innovative therapies at the University of Trieste. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological sciences and technologies from the University of Calabria and his master’s degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical biotechnology from the University of Trieste. He is part of the cardiovascular biology laboratory led by Professor Serena Zacchigna, where he conducts research in cardiovascular diseases and translational medicine. Alongside his scientific work, he is also an illustrator. He is the author of the comic book “Il cuore restituito”, inspired by the story of Pieter Glijnis, which will be presented during the talk as a narrative tool to convey the value of research, patients’ experiences and trust in innovative medicine.
