Cinzia Chiandetti
professor of Cognitive neuroscience University of Trieste
Cinzia Chiandetti is full professor of Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Trieste, where she leads the Laboratory of Animal Cognition. She graduated in Psychology from the University of Padova and obtained a PhD in Neuroscience at the B.R.A.I.N. Centre for Neuroscience, University of Trieste. She has carried out postdoctoral and visiting research at CIMeC, University of Trento, and in international laboratories in Europe, the United States and Japan. Her research uses a comparative approach to investigate the origin and development of cognitive functions, cerebral lateralisation, biological predispositions to musical perception, and the effects of environmental factors on animal behaviour. She received a L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science fellowship and is active in science communication and international editorial activities.
