Abstract

Humanity is facing severe challenges, from food and water security, to the climate crisis and pandemics. At the same time, the fourth industrial revolution is opening up new opportunities, and innovations in medicine and biotechnology are embraced around the world. But scientific capacity is distributed unevenly worldwide. To properly address key issues that hinder sustainable development, it is urgent to boost scientific growth in the global South. This session will discuss the importance of building research capacity, promoting science diplomacy, and improving education in the developing world.
