Jonathan Cylus è responsabile del Hub di Londra dell’Osservatorio Europeo sui Sistemi e le Politiche sanitarie (con sede presso la London School of Economics e la London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) e senior health economist presso l’Ufficio di Barcellona dell’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità per il finanziamento dei sistemi sanitari. È anche visinting professor presso l’Istituto di Barcellona per la Salute Globale (ISGlobal) e docente di Health services, policy, and practice presso la Brown University School of Public Health. La sua ricerca si concentra sulle politiche di finanziamento della sanità, sulle prestazioni dei sistemi sanitari, nonché sull’economia dell’invecchiamento. Ha lavorato su questi temi in molti Paesi, oltre che con la Commissione europea, l’OCSE e l’OMS. Jonathan lavora anche su politiche sociali e determinanti sociali sulla salute ed è stato economista presso i Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) negli Stati Uniti.


Jonathan Cylus is head of the London Hub of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (based at the London School of Economics and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) and senior health economist at WHO Barcelona Office for Health Systems Financing. He is also visiting professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), and professor of Health services, policy, and practice at the Brown University School of Public Health. His research is on health systems, focusing primarily on health financing policy, health economics and health system performance, as well as on the economics of population ageing. He has worked on these topics in a wide range of countries, as well as with the European Commission, OECD and WHO. He is also interested in the role of social policies and other social determinants on health. Prior to joining the Observatory, Jonathan was an economist at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in the US.
