PhD in Astrofisica e autore di oltre 200 articoli scientifici, review, relazioni presentate a conferenze e articoli tecnici, ha partecipato a più di 20 progetti nazionali ed internazionali su high-performance computing e cloud computing, ricoprendo ruoli di responsabilità (e.g. ExaNeSt, EUROEXA, ESCAPE, EuroVO). È stato responsabile del gruppo di lavoro Grid and Web Services nell’International Virtual Observatory Alliance e, attualmente, è co-responsabile del Theory Interest Group. È il responsabile tecnico dello Spoke 3 “Astrophysics and Cosmos Observations” del Centro di Ricerca sull’High-Performance Computing, Big Data e Quantum Computing, istituito dal Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza. È membro dell’Unità Scientifica Centrale di Calcolo dell’INAF. Dal 2022 è un primo tecnologo presso l’INAF a Trieste e tiene lezioni di calcolo avanzato nel corso di laurea magistrale in Data science e scientific computing e presso il Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Università di Trieste.

PhD in Astrophysics and author of over 200 refereed papers, invited reviews, conference and technical papers, he participated in more than 20 national and international projects on HPC and Cloud with main lead responsibility roles (e.g. ExaNeSt, EUROEXA, ESCAPE, EuroVO). He was the chair of the Grid and Web Services working group in the International Virtual Observatory Alliance and he is now the co-chair of the Theory Interest Group. He is the technical manager of the Spoke 3 “Astrophysics and Cosmos Observations” of the High-Performance Computing, Big Data e Quantum Computing Research Centre established by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. He is member of the the INAF Computing Central Scientific Unit. Since 2022 he is a development scientists at INAF in Trieste and he is a lecturer of advanced computing at master’s degree in Data science and scientific computing and at the Physics Department of the University of Trieste.
