Sebastian Goldt
faculty member in Data Science SISSA
Sebastian Goldt is a faculty member at SISSA, where he has led the “Neural Network Theory” group since 2020. He studies what and how neural networks learn, with the goal of better understanding the key technology behind artificial intelligence. A native of Germany, he studied physics at Cambridge (UK) and earned a Ph.D. in theoretical physics in Stuttgart (Germany). Before joining SISSA, he was a postdoc in Paris (France). He organizes international schools and conferences, including the “Youth in High Dimensions” series in Trieste.
