Samiya Abi Jaoude

Samiya Abi Jaoude is a neurosurgeon at the Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild Hospital in Paris, specialising in skull base tumours, vascular neurosurgery and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders. Originally from Lebanon, she became the country’s first female neurosurgeon before continuing her training at Sainte-Anne and Pitié-Salpêtrière hospitals in France. Her work combines clinical care, research and international collaboration in neuroscience and global health. She is involved in the International Surgeons series with The Hippocratic Collective and is also a Young Physician Leader of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), a programme supporting outstanding young emerging leaders in medicine worldwide. Beyond her clinical and academic work, she has a deep passion for the history of medicine.
