Maurizio Cortese

Maurizio Cortese leads the strategic vision and development of AGORAI, with the goal of helping to “humanize the future” by promoting responsible AI and fostering a public-private ecosystem capable of strengthening European digital sovereignty. He has gained extensive international experience within the Ferrero Group, where he held leadership roles across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. He later joined the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, first as CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Smart Care, where he launched the Group’s first multichannel Digital Health platform, and subsequently as Business Development Director at NEVA SGR, focusing on technology investments and the development of innovative start-ups. He earned a degree in Economics from the University of Turin and completed an Executive Program at INSEAD in Fontainebleau. He further refined his strategic perspective through his early professional experiences at Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Andersen Consulting. A devoted family man, novelist, and jazz enthusiast, he finds his balance between the notes of a solo and the pages of a story.
