He holds a degree in Biology and worked as a researcher in psychopharmacology. From 1985 to 1995, he served as Scientific Coordinator of Oasis, the leading Italian magazine for nature, nature photography and ecology. He has written scientific articles for newspapers as well as weekly and monthly magazines. From 2010 to 2020, he was Science Editor at the magazines Geo, Focus, Focus Junior and Focus.it. He has published and translated several popular science and natural history books. For Codice Edizioni, he wrote L’evoluzione è ovunque (2015) and Come costruire un alieno (2021). In 2026, he published Le piante non sono animali verdi with Bollati Boringhieri.
