Andrea Nardini

Andrea Nardini is Full Professor of Plant Physiology in the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Trieste. His research focuses on plant responses to environmental stress, with particular emphasis on water stress. His work specifically investigates the impacts of heatwaves and drought on plants, as well as the use of plants as a foundation for climate change adaptation strategies in urban, agricultural, and forest environments. He actively collaborates with colleagues from numerous European and non-European countries. He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers published in international journals and books in the fields of plant biology and plant ecology. He was one of the founders of the Master’s Degree Programme in Global Change Ecology and Sustainability at the University of Trieste, which he coordinated for many years. He is also the Scientific Lead of the Botanical Garden of the University of Trieste.
