Marina Cobal
professor of Physics University of Udine
Marina Cobal is Full Professor of Physics at the University of Udine, an Associate Member of INFN and President of the International Foundation Trieste. Her scientific career has developed in the field of experimental particle physics, with research experience at Fermilab (USA) and CERN (Switzerland), where she worked as a Fellow and later as a Staff Member. She has taken part in some of the leading international collaborations in high-energy physics, including CDF, ATLAS and FCC, contributing to research on the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern the Universe. Her doctoral work was recognised for its contribution to the discovery of the top quark. She is the author or co-author of more than 1,500 scientific publications and has received the Laura Bassi Career Award of the Italian Physical Society. Today she is committed to promoting dialogue between science, innovation, education and society.
