Luca Oneto

Luca Oneto received his BSc and MSc in Electronic Engineering and his PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Genoa, where he later worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Professor. He co-founded the spin-off ZenaByte s.r.l. in 2018. In 2019, he became Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Pisa and, from 2019 to 2024, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Computer Engineering at the University of Genoa. He is currently Full Professor in Computer Engineering at the University of Genoa. He has been coordinator and local principal investigator of numerous industrial, H2020 and Horizon Europe projects, and has received prestigious awards, including the Amazon AWS Machine Learning Award and the Somalvico Award for the best young AI researcher in Italy. His main research interests lie in Statistical Learning Theory and trustworthy AI, using and improving state-of-the-art machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to tackle real-world problems.
