Leonardo Egidi is Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of Trieste. His primary research interests include the development of theoretical Bayesian methods and their applications to economics, genomics and sport. He leads the research group 'egBayes Lab' and is actively engaged in science communication. In 2025 he published the book 'Predictive Modelling for Football Analytics' with CRC Press, together with his colleagues Ioannis Ntzoufras and Dimitris Karlis. He provides statistical consulting to private individuals and hospitals, and was the Under-40 Principal Investigator of a PRIN 2022 project funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. A member of the PhD board in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (ADSAI), he supervises Master’s and PhD students. He also serves as Associate Editor for two scientific journals in the field of statistics.
