Abstract

We are now able to create drugs based on clinical and molecular characteristics of each patient, ideally identifying, for each one, the specifically most suitable drug and ideal dosages to achieve maximum efficacy with minimum risk of side effects. The limitations and prospects of such drugs will be discussed. Indeed, even these smart therapies need to be validated in adequate efficacy studies, which require innovative approaches in applied experimental models, both statistically and in vitro.
