LA TECNOLOGIA È RELIGIONE

Comunemente, la tecnologia viene intesa come figlia della scienza. Ma allontanandosi da questa prospettiva filogenetica a includere nella sua definizione anche gli effetti che essa ha sulla società, è possibile intravedere le note stridenti di questa associazione. Da strumento di analisi e comprensione della realtà che ci circonda, la tecnologia diventa strumento di costruzione di una realtà alternativa che codifica nuovi linguaggi e strutture di pensiero, in un apparente tentativo di liberazione dai limiti di ciò che è fisico. In questa veste alternativa, che la rende in grado di plasmare le nostre abitudini e i confini dell’immaginazione, riconoscere i tratti di una nuova religione diventa essenziale per lo sviluppo di un pensiero critico nei confronti di ciò che quotidianamente viviamo.

Commonly, technology is thought of as the child of science. However, by taking a few steps back from this phylogenetic perspective to include in its definition also the effects it has on society, one can glimpse the jarring notes of this association. From being a tool to explore and understand the surrounding reality, technology becomes an instrument used to build an alternative reality that encodes new languages and structures of thought, apparently looking for a liberation from the limits of our physical world. From this alternative perspective, that makes it able to influence our habits and the edges of imagination, being able to recognize the traits of a new religion is essential to build a strong critical thought about our daily lives.
