Abstract
Communication about the EU has changed with the increasing use of social media as a source of information for citizens. This represents both a challenge and an opportunity The algorithms behind social media platforms and artificial intelligence contribute to phenomena such as polarization and disinformation, but at the same time they make it possible to identify future disinformation trends and, consequently, to help prevent them. What is the EU doing to counter these phenomena and to take advantage of the opportunities offered by these new information tools?
