Abstract
Music engages a complex network of brain regions. Musical listening and practice can influence cognitive development, enhance neural plasticity, and exert therapeutic effects in clinical contexts, such as in neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. Studies on professional violinists and clarinetists have identified a true audio-visual-motor mirror neuron system. The relationship between music and humans remains one of the highest forms of human expression and continues to be a profound mystery to explore and discuss.
