SPACE 15. INTERCONNECTIONS: A JOURNEY FROM THE OCEAN TO THE DEEP EARTH

OGS, the public research institute dedicated to Earth and Ocean Sciences, welcomes visitors with educational games and activities, scientific workshops, and meet-and-greets with scientists to discuss natural hazards, climate change, polar regions, the Ocean, and biodiversity. This year, special attention is being paid to the 50th anniversary of the Friuli earthquake: from the contribution of OGS - then the Applied Geophysical Observatory - in locating the main events of the sequence on the night of May 6, 1976, to the monitoring networks created in the aftermath of the quake, a valuable lesson in resilience and collaboration. Once again this year, its booth hosts the Grotta Gigante for a journey into the depths of the Earth. A true immersion to discover the research and technologies that enable us to understand the natural world and tackle the challenges for a sustainable planet.
