In November 2023, a strong sea storm damaged the coasts of the Gulf of Trieste. This led to the creation of a project to raise awareness of rising sea levels, funded by the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in which meetings are being held with the public and a virtual tour of the region’s coastline is being created. In the laboratory, visors for virtual navigation of the coastline from Muggia to Lignano, above and below sea level, and the necessary instrumentation for morpho-oceanographic surveys and the acquisition of video footage will be available to the public.
