What does it mean to “do justice”? What is expected from those who have caused harm? What do people who have been hurt or offended truly seek? And how can a community be present in supporting the “inner” transformation of those who, due to the seriousness of their actions, are serving a sentence either inside or outside of prison? At the stand, visitors will be guided through a short interactive journey to explore stories of injustice that have found innovative and generative solutions. This will offer participants the opportunity to contribute their own opinions and impressions to the university’s research on Restorative Justice. The stand will also provide information on the social reintegration paths promoted by the District Office for External Penal Execution and on the initiatives of the Trieste Community Justice Hub — a project funded by Cassa delle Ammende and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region – Directorate for Health, Social Policies and Disability, and hosted at the University’s premises in Via Montfort.
