Paola Storici è ricercatrice a Elettra e a capo del Laboratorio di Proteine. Si è laureata all’Università di Trieste in chimica e tecnologie farmaceutiche dove ha anche conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in biochimica. Dopo 5 anni di ricerca accademica al Biozentrum di Basilea, è diventata primo ricercatore in una grande azienda farmaceutica del hinterland milanese dirigendo il laboratorio di biochimica delle proteine per lo sviluppo di nuovi farmaci oncologici. Dal 2009 fa parte del team di biologia strutturale di Elettra dove studia la funzione e struttura di proteine che sono di interesse per lo sviluppo di nuovi farmaci.

Paola Storici is a researcher at Elettra and head of the Protein Laboratory. She graduated from the University of Trieste in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology where she also received her PhD in biochemistry. After 5 years of academic research at Biozentrum in Basel, she became first researcher in a big pharma company in the Milan hinterland directing the protein biochemistry laboratory for the development of new oncology drugs. Since 2009, she has been part of Elettra’s structural biology team where she studies the function and structure of proteins that are of interest for new drug development.
