Professore di Turismo dal 2003 (Cattedra di Turismo e del Centro per l’Imprenditorialità) e, dal 2023, presidente fondatore della School of Transformation and Sustainability presso la Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germania). È inoltre presidente del Center for Advanced Studies di EURAC Research a Bolzano, specializzato in ricerca interdisciplinare e studi sul futuro. Dal 2014 Pechlaner è Adjunct Research Professor presso la School of Management and Marketing della Curtin Business School a Perth, Australia Occidentale. La sua attività di ricerca si concentra sulla governance delle destinazioni, la leadership e il design, l’imprenditorialità e le sfide globali per le regioni e le destinazioni. Pechlaner è stato presidente dell’AIEST (2014–2024), la più antica associazione mondiale di esperti scientifici nel campo del turismo. Dal 2016 è membro effettivo dell’Accademia Europea delle Scienze e delle Arti.
Harald Pechlaner
Harald Pechlaner is since October 2003 Professor of Tourism (chair of Tourism and Center for Entrepreneurship) and since October 2023 a founding chair of the School of Transformation and Sustainability at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany). He is chair of Center for Advanced Studies at EURAC Research in Bozen, specialized in interdisciplinary research and futures studies (Italy). Since 2014 Pechlaner is Adjunct Research Professor at the School of Management and Marketing/Curtin Business School in Perth/Western Australia. His research is focused on destination governance, leadership and design, entrepreneurship and global challenges for regions and destinations. Pechlaner was President of the AIEST (2014-2024), the worldwide oldest association of scientific experts in tourism. Since 2016 he is a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
