Attualmente spokesperson dell’esperimento AMBER e Scientific Associate al CERN di Ginevra, è stata coordinatrice nazionale italiana dell’esperimento COMPASS, e fa parte della Collaborazione ePIC al futuro electron-ion collider (EIC) al Brookhaven National Laboratory, NY, USA. Durante il dottorato ha lavorato sulla fisica dei raggi cosmici, per passare successivamente allo studio della struttura degli adroni e di come le loro proprietà discendono dai loro costituenti fondamentali, quark e gluoni, che è diventata da tempo la sua principale attività di ricerca, insieme allo sviluppo di rivelatori di particelle. Si dedica anche alla divulgazione scientifica. È stata dal 2021 presidente della Commissione Public Engagement del Dipartimento di Fisica. È Coordinatrice per Torino del Festival Pint of Science, è responsabile locale del progetto dell’INFN Radiolab, e ideatrice e responsabile scientifica del Progetto “Scienza Migrante – Storie di Scienza e Migrazione”.
Michela Chiosso
Currently spokesperson of the AMBER experiment and Scientific Associate at CERN in Geneva, she previously served as the Italian national coordinator for the COMPASS experiment, and is part of the ePIC Collaboration at the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory, NY, USA. During her PhD, she worked on cosmic ray physics, later shifting her focus to the study of hadron structure and how their properties arise from their fundamental constituents, quarks and gluons—a field that has since become her primary research activity, alongside the development of particle detectors. She is also active in science outreach. Since 2021, she has chaired the Public Engagement Committee of the Department of Physics. She is the Turin coordinator of the Pint of Science Festival, the local coordinator of the INFN Radiolab project, and the creator and scientific director of the project "Scienza Migrante – Stories of Science and Migration".
