Majed Chergui

professor of Chemistry and Physics EPFL-Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne

Professor of Physics and Chemistry at the EPF-Lausanne, he is known for pioneering novel time-resolved spectroscopic methods for the study molecular systems, proteins and solids. In particular, ultrafast X-ray spectroscopy, which has witnessed a huge growth with the advent of Free Electron Lasers. He is founder of the Lausanne Centre for Ultrafast Science and was the founding editor of the journal Structural Dynamics. For his achievements, he has received several international Awards and Prizes.
