Five young international researchers from the International Academy bring to Trieste Next 2025 a multidisciplinary story that bridges life sciences, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and robotics. In the Life Sciences & Biotechnologies section, topics range from new fluorescent nanoparticles able to detect tumor cells (Alessandra Gabriele), to the study of bioactive compounds in a Mediterranean plant with antioxidant properties (Ante Mrše), to an innovative system for producing high-quality recombinant proteins, essential for drug development (Thu Nguyen). The AI & Robotics section turns to technological challenges: from applying artificial intelligence to optimize hydrogen fuel cells for the automotive sector (Fuat Berke Gül), to research on workers’ resilience in the highly interactive man–machine environments of Industry 5.0 (Angelo Valente).
