Abstract
Scientific research is increasingly an international effort, and large infrastructures are a concrete example: places where countries, skills, and visions meet. But what is their impact on the local area? What role do they play in economic development, technology transfer, and employment? Trieste, with its network of infrastructures and centers of excellence, stands as a strategic hub for European science.
