Any damage to the liver can severely compromise health. Biobanks are “archives” of biological samples made up of blood or tissues. In the field of hepatology, they make it possible to analyze samples from people affected by various diseases in order to search for biomarkers for faster and more accurate diagnoses. The use of big data allows for the analysis of vast amounts of data from biobanks and clinical studies to identify hidden patterns. Biobanks and big data are powerful tools for tackling liver diseases more effectively and improving global health.
